This issue appears to originate from a corrupt game file. In order to fix it, please delete or rename the game’s save files, generally located in this folder:
C:\Users\[YOUR USER]\AppData\LocalLow\Marmalade Game Studio\Game Of Life 2
Where [YOUR USER] is your Windows profile name.
If the issue persists despite deleting or renaming these files, make sure that Steam Cloud Saves are turned off in The Game of Life 2’s Settings accessed from the Steam client (not the in-game Settings) before trying again.
