Bringing the Speed Die to the board

When starting a game using the Speed Die, all players get an additional $1,000 in their starting funds.

The first thing you need to do is travel around the board once, just like a normal game. Once you pass GO the first time, the Speed Die is added to your dice rolls. It can act as a normal die or change things up with the Mr Monopoly symbol and the Bus symbol!

Symbol: The Bus

The Bus lets you decide whether you want to use either the total score of both regular dice or just one of the dice to move. For example, if you roll a one and a five, you can choose to move one space, five spaces or six spaces.

This can help you avoid landing on someone else's property and paying rent.

Symbol: Mr Monopoly

If you roll a Mr Monopoly symbol, you first move the number of spaces that your regular dice roll dictates, as usual, and resolve whatever tile you land on. Then, Mr Monopoly’s effect kicks in! You must move to the next empty property, which gives you the chance to buy it! But if all the property tiles have been bought, you have to move to the next property you owe money on!

Three of a kind

Finally, there’s the most exciting roll in the game: THREE OF A KIND! Roll a three of a kind and you get to go ANYWHERE you want!

The fine print

As with all good deals, there are some terms and conditions when using the Speed Die.

You’ll only get the Speed Die once you pass GO for the first time.
The Speed Die isn’t counted for doubles when you roll. So if you roll a two and a four on your regular dice and a two on your Speed Die, this isn’t classed as rolling a double.
However, it DOES influence what you pay at utilities! The Mr Monopoly and Bus symbols are valued at zero for this.
Also, you can’t smuggle the Speed Die into jail with you – you’ll have to roll with the standard dice while you’re behind bars!
